10.000 households benefit from solar project in Kenya

More than 10.000 households in K’Ogelo, Siaya County will benefit from a Sh30 million home solar system project

.

The project spearheaded by Daima Energy company in partnership-with Safeguard Orphans and Widows Organisation (SOWO) will be carried in two phases. Speaking in K’Ogelo during the launch of the project, Daima chief executive officer Joyce Onuonga said solar energy is suitable for rural folk as it is cheaper

.

“This project is intended to improve lives by addressing the problem of energy which has been a headache”, said Onuonga. The residents will acquire the solar systems in instalments through the Saccos.
